Holiday Trifle
from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St. John

Heavy cream, whipped
2 packages of white cake mix
Red and green food colouring
Strawberries, whole and fresh
Strawberries, sliced
8 ounces strawberry liquer

Marinate the sliced berries overnight in the strawberry
liquer.

Mix the ingredients for one of the cake mixes according
to directions on the box. Add several drops of red food
colouring to the batter in mixing bowl. Mix the other
white cake mix as directed. Add drops of green food
colouring to the batter. Bake according to package
directions. Cool both cakes.

In a deep glass serving bowl, put some whipped cream on
the bottom. Cut both cakes into bite sized pieces. Layer
red cake squares, whipped cream, green cake squares, whip-
ped cream, and the sliced berries and liquid, finishing
with a thick layer of whipped cream on the top.

Cover the surface of your dish by sinking berries into the top
layer of whipped cream, or just in a ring around the edge.
