Spirit

in a blood stained
Blue Jacket
with dull brass buttons
slung over a doeskin dress
she stands
in the tall grasses
Writing Without Words
The Many Hearted Woman
who birthed The Ancient Child
Runner in the Sun
She Belongs to the Thunder
this ghost singer of Wolf  Song
this Moccasin Maker
whose Breath on the Mirror
chants
of A Poison
Stronger Than Love

with Dead Voices
she sings
The Myth of the Noble Savage
the sound of wood breaking
Seven Arrows like Lightning Bolts
will pierce her skin
her Spirit laid low
The Hawk is Hungry but
As Long as the Rivers Shall Run
As Long as the Grass Shall Grow
and Rivers Flow

There will be No Time for Tears

Walks Far Woman
