Peel the homegrown tomatoes and slip into mason jars.
Watch the pressure cooker steam and whistle.
Chop the dill and measure the pickle brine, dice the onions.
Beat the carpets for the last time this year.
Unpack the quilt your mother made from your childhood dresses.
Buy new shoes with sturdy soles and rain boots.
Check the fir trees one more time
and count the cones.
