Whispers From the Autumn Night
by Pete Justus

The wind roared over the night
And the leaves flew among the diamonds bright.
The cold slipped under the door
Like a lake washing over a shore.
The stars shimmered above velvet skies
As Fall came in with brown crackling eyes.
The sun rose over the chills
In rainbow reds between the hills.
The year remembered the summer bold
Like when a man discovers he's getting old.
