Hand Sight
by Larry Jaffe

I see in your hands
the path to your heart
they shift
with roguish wonder.

I watch
the way your fingers
move in liturgy
praying for unknown
miracles.

While watching
your limbs in their
symbolic motions, I
decided I loved you.

Your extremities
form a delicate
balance to the all of you.

Feeling this harmony
from afar, envisioning
aesthetic commingling
should we encounter
each other.

It is this order of magnitude
I solicit from your
wondering gaze
as if to say
"Ain't life grand
that we could meet
this way?"
