Bacon Wrapped Dates
from the kitchen of Sharmagne Leland-St. John

20 large dates, pitted
1 8-ounce package Neufchatel cheese
10 strips of bacon, cut in half
20 toothpicks

Preheat the oven to 375º F.

Fill the pitted dates with the cheese. Don't overfill them,
it will just leak out.

Wrap each filled date in one half-slice of bacon and secure
with a toothpick.

Place them in a casserole and bake for 30-45 minutes, or until
the bacon is fully crisped. Keep an eye on them after ½ hour
they can burn quickly. Place on a paper towel to absorb grease.

Let cool and serve as an hors d'oeuvres.
