To Lisa Jarnot’s Lake of Fire

my body there too
beside the white water lilies, the fire, beside the trains
a tiny slender aspen with auburn curls
my lips remain pursed
I confess
tongue heavy
rocks in my jaws
only it is the lake only the lilies
that save me
a spot of my own
begging me to understand me
